Like all good citizens, members of the American Legion Auxiliary are extremely interested in the passage or defeat of legislative measures, which come before the National Congress and the State Legislatures.  Through the State and National organizations, they are able to give expression to their opinions on these matters, which will be heard by the men and women who make the laws.  Many good laws have been written on the statute books because of The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary support, and undesirable bills have often been defeated.

Members are informed of key legislative events through
the articles in The Dispatch. Subscription requests accompanied with a check or money order for $15.00 made payable to The American Legion and addressed to:
The Dispatch, The American Legion P O Box 1055 Indianapolis, IN 46206.

Points of Emphasis

This year, the three points of emphasis are:
        - To Educate, inspire and motivate members to ensure the voice of The American Legion Family is heard among legislators.

       - To obtain an updated Legislative Council list from every Department and to increase the number of contacts by Legislative Council members with legislators.
        - To submit a greater number of newsworthy articles to the Congressional delegation, requesting that the information be included in the Congressional Record, the official diary
            of Congress.

The American Legion Family must continue to serve as a powerful lobbying force in the community, state and nation to keep our nation the
"Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave".
